To amplify our message and build momentum, United Nurses of Alberta has called for a provincial Day of Action on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
This important day commemorates the anniversary of the 1988 nurses' strike and provides an opportunity to come together in solidarity. Across Alberta, UNA Locals will hold rallies, information pickets, and other events outside their worksites to stand up for:
Safe staffing
Safe patient care
Public health care
Respect for frontline healthcare workers
In rejecting the Mediator’s recommended agreement, UNA members sent a strong message: we will not accept anything less than the respect we deserve. Now, it’s time to send another message by coming together for a powerful Day of Action. Together, we can show the strength and unity of Alberta's nurses to demand the respect and support we deserve.
