Fixing the nurse staffing crisis, safety in hospitals, and mental health and addictions were some of the top concerns raised by UNA nurses when they met with federal Minister of Health Mark Holland, Minister of Employment and Workforce Development Randy Boissonnault and Chief Nursing Officer Dr. Leigh Chapman today in Edmonton. The nurses shared their frustrations with how the staffing shortage is impacting patient care in every corner of Alberta and presented positive solutions to the ministers about how the federal government can play a role in fixing the crisis.
